Social Futures are seeking GPs for their family planning service in Lismore and Kyogle. The service offers women’s health and reproductive consultations, pregnancy and contraception advice (including an IUCD service), and STI checks.

Choices (formerly called the Family Planning Service) focuses on the needs of low-income families and bulk bills all consultations. The service was formed more than 30 years ago and many local female GPs have staffed the centre over the years.

Interested GPs should have a National Reproductive and Sexual Health Certificate and training and be experienced in women’s health. The service is part time but does provide after-hours access. It is currently seeking GPs for sessions on Mondays, Thursday evenings and occasional Saturdays. The Service is centred in Lismore but does outreach to Kyogle.

Choices is separate to the Lismore Sexual Health Service. While it does undertake STI testing and  treatment, "Choices" is more focussed on family planning, general gynaecological concerns and cervical screening.

GPs are employed on a casual basis at $89 per hour but employment options are negotiable.

Interested practitioners should contact Keah Wheeler the Service Co-Ordinator at Social Futures (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.02 6620 7660).
