Do you have a head full of stories just dying to seep out onto the page? Perhaps you’ve hit a brick wall with your writing and need a jump start? Or maybe there’s that voice telling you that you’ll never be good enough to write something people would want to read? You may have published works already! Wherever you’re at in your writing journey, we’d love to have you as part of a newly established writers’ group for local doctors from Tweed Heads to Port Macquarie.

Open to writers of any genre, from amateur to experienced, flash fiction to novels, the group meets to develop our writing and editing skills through a supportive environment amongst colleagues.

Meets: monthly, at a time convenient to the participants
Location: Mix of in-person and/or online as agreed between participants
Cost: free

We all know that doctors’ lives are busy and what we do, while highly rewarding, can also be draining and confronting at times. Writing can offer a release, an escape to a fantasy world, a way of coming to terms with challenges or a way to vent frustrations. Despite the quips about the illegibility of doctors’ writing, we can be amazing storytellers; think Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) and Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park).
